Raja Ampat Opened A Promotion Office in Bali

Raja Ampat Regency, West Papua, which is famous for its world-class marine tourism, has opened its promotion office in Sanur, Bali. It is aimed to approach global tourism market.

The regent of Raja Ampat, Marcus Wanma said that the region has 610 large and small islands in the area of Irian island. He is optimistic that they can play a major role in developing the island which will be based on marine resources and their services. Therefore they need a promotion office in Bali, where the development direction and coordination can be addressed better.

There are several marine resorts, hotels and diving sites available with the coral reef and marvelous marine species in Raja Ampat.

In the perspective of Raja Ampat's officer, Bali has a significant role in promoting marine tourism. Bali has become one of the world tourism icon, so Raja Ampat and Bali together will create a perfect sinergy.

The data shows that the number of tourists visiting Raja Ampat, almost 99 percent came from Europe, America and Australia. Last year only 200 visitors from 7000 people were domestic tourists.

Based on the booklet of Raja Ampat Regency, it is said that the ecosystem of coral reef is the potential marine resources,especially on the small island clusters. There are 540 species hard coral reefs, including 13 species of endemic coral reef, of which the number is 75% of the world's endemic coral reef.
